About Loket
A counter without opening hours
Citizens and self-employed people copy numbers every day. The rules to check them are public, but hidden in standards and accounting software. Loket puts them together.
Why Loket
An account number, a VAT number, a structured communication: one digit wrong and the payment bounces, the invoice is off or the bank refuses. All three have check digits that give such a mistake away at once. Loket does the sums for you, free and without an account.
Independent
Loket is an independent tool by nealvdv. It is not a government service and has no tie to the FPS Finance, the KBO/BCE, the national register, the National Bank or your bank. What Loket says is a calculation; for an official confirmation, go to the source named at every counter.
All in your browser
Every check happens on your device. There is no server that sees your numbers, no database and no tracking. Once you have opened the site, it works without a connection too.
