A counter for everyone
Loket has to work with a mouse, a keyboard or a screen reader, on a big or a small screen. Here's what we do for that.
Our standard
We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA, the norm behind the European Accessibility Act (EN 301 549). We test with the keyboard, at 320 pixels wide and at 200 % zoom.
What we do
Every page has a clear structure with headings, a link to skip to the content and a visible focus. Every field has a label, results are announced as soon as they change, and the colours have enough contrast in the light and the dark theme.
Reading comfort
With the reading-comfort button in the preferences you pick a profile in one tap, or exactly what helps: larger text, more contrast, colour correction, a big cursor, more spacing, a readable font, underlined links, a reading guide, read aloud and less motion. Your choice stays on your device. The site also works without it, alongside your own device's settings.
What isn't perfect yet
The list of holidays and a run of references are real tables with headers. The QR code has a text alternative, and what's in it is also written beside it. The 'open now' board stands still with 'less motion' and is skipped by screen readers; the counters are simply in the page.
