Enterprise and VAT number
An invoice with a wrong VAT number can cost you the deduction. Loket checks the enterprise number in any notation: BE0462.920.226, 0462 920 226 or the old nine-digit number.
BE0462.920.226, 0462 920 226 or 462.920.226: any notation will do.

How it works
An enterprise number has ten digits and starts with 0 or 1. The last two are 97 minus the remainder of the first eight divided by 97.
The VAT number is the same number with BE in front. Numbers starting with 2 to 8 are establishment units, not enterprise numbers.
Loket checks the rule, not whether the company exists, is active or is registered for VAT: that is in KBO Public Search (for Belgium) or VIES (for VAT numbers across the EU).
