3Numbers
IBAN and bank
Copying an account number goes wrong easily. Loket checks the IBAN, tells which bank a Belgian account belongs to and its BIC, and converts an old number (539-0075470-34).
With or without spaces. An old number like 539-0075470-34 is converted.

How it works
Every IBAN has two check digits (the third and fourth characters). The calculation is the same everywhere (ISO 13616, modulo 97) and catches nearly every typo and every swap of two digits.
A Belgian IBAN carries a second check: the old account number ends in its own two check digits. Loket checks both.
The bank follows from the three digits after BExx, from the National Bank of Belgium's list (version of 1 September 2026). A valid IBAN doesn't mean the account exists or whose it is: only the bank knows that.
